Vision & Mission
For the sustainable tourism development and international presence of Thassos
Our vision
Our vision is for tourism to strengthen the island's economy, with more opportunities for local businesses, longer periods of employment and stronger links with local production. We want more areas and communities to share in the tourism economy, with visitor flows balanced across the island and throughout the year.

Our mission
Our mission is to give Thassos a single strategic direction, a distinctive identity and a consistent presence in the Greek and international tourism markets. To this end, we bring the planning, management and promotion of the destination into one shared framework, with the participation of public bodies, the business community and local residents.
Our objectives
Tourism development and strategy
The overall planning, preparation and implementation of a tourism development strategy for Thassos.
Destination identity and reputation
Highlighting the island's distinctive character and tourism strengths, and continuously enhancing its image in the Greek and international markets.
Tourism marketing and promotion
Promoting Thassos in Greece and abroad through communication programmes, participation in trade fairs and the production of visitor information material.
Tourism product and experience development
Designing general and special interest tourism programmes, and developing tourism products and services for different visitor groups.
Infrastructure and investment
Contributing to modern tourism infrastructure, and preparing studies and proposals for the competent authorities on tourism development and attracting related investment.
Tourism awareness
Developing programmes that inform local residents about tourism and its importance for the island.
Partnerships and outreach
Building relationships with peer organisations and bodies in Greece and abroad for joint initiatives, projects and programmes.
Sustainability and local identity
Connecting tourism with local production, culture and the identity of the place, with respect for the natural environment and residents' quality of life.

Sustainability as a principle
Sustainability guides our planning, our partnerships and our actions. Protecting the island's natural and cultural heritage, managing resources responsibly and respecting residents' daily lives and quality of life are our core priorities.
We link the long-term success of Thassos to the quality of the visitor experience, the preservation of the island's distinctive character and the creation of lasting value for the place.
