The Thassos Tourism Organisation at the Thessaloniki Exhibition: A Dynamic Presence at the REMTh Pavilion
The Thassos Tourism Organisation successfully took part in this year's Thessaloniki Exhibition, representing the island of Thassos through a comprehensive and impressive tourism presence. The Organisation was represented by its President, Mr Ioannis Markianos, and Ms Natasa Kyriatzidou, who showcased the island's unique experiences, natural landscapes and cultural identity.
The participation took place at the pavilion of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (REMTh), where Thassos attracted strong interest from tourism professionals and visitors. The World Travel Awards trophy, won by both the REMTh and Thassos, was also displayed prominently, highlighting the international recognition and upward trajectory of the area as a leading destination.
During the exhibition, the island's potential for thematic tourism, new promotional activities and initiatives for sustainable, high-quality tourism were presented. Mr Ioannis Markianos underlined the importance of a continuous presence at major tourism events, while Ms Kyriatzidou held a series of meetings with travel agents and organisations, promoting the comparative advantages of the destination.
The presence at the Thessaloniki Exhibition strengthened cooperation between the Thassos Tourism Organisation, the REMTh and industry professionals, confirming the steady upward trajectory of the island and the region in the international tourism landscape.
