Thassos at the ITB Berlin international tourism fair
The participation of Thassos in ITB Berlin, the largest international tourism fair, has been concluded with outstanding success, in cooperation with the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO).
The island was represented by the Deputy Mayor for Tourism and President of the Thassos Tourism Organisation, Mr Ioannis Markianos, and by the representative of the Kavala Chamber, Mr Anastasios Bilias, which is a member of the Organisation. The delegation also included businesspeople from the tourism sector, while the promotional effort was further strengthened by the presence of the Deputy Regional Governor, Mr Archontis.
During the fair, important contacts were made with tour operators, travel agencies and journalists, confirming the strong interest in Thassos. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of sustainable tourism through hiking and cycling routes, cultural routes and authentic local experiences.
The meetings paved the way for new strategic partnerships while strengthening existing ones. The signals regarding air connections, which are a key priority, are particularly positive.
Through upcoming activities such as press and fam trips, Thassos continues to strengthen its position in the German market, confirming its momentum as a high-quality and attractive destination.
